Much like fonts, some people can get a bit carried away with colour. I love colour!
But you can have too much colour… or at least poorly planned colour with some elements of design. It’s about choosing complementary colours and using them in a way that ‘makes sense’ to your clients.
As a designer, I tend to stick with a couple of main colours for a business and then I may also bring in other ‘accent’ colours that are used for different aspects of the business, different products or perhaps just a one-off promotion as an example.
You don’t want to overwhelm your clients with a barrage of colour, so choose a few colours that you like and that you feel work well for your business and stick with them the majority of the time. If you’d like an insight in to what different colours can mean, check out our infographic here:
