I stumbled across this today and it made me smile so much I couldn’t resist sharing it with you here.
Just Laid is a brainchild of the Springettes brand agency, who were looking to create a fun approach for this brand.
We were asked to develop concepts that explored hypothetical positioning for how eggs could better satisfy or respond to consumer needs. One of the many thoughts we had was how this commodity category could respond better to concerns related to CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) issues such as food miles and related freshness. We were intrigued by the notion that, while early adopters of CSR issues find it easy to support a cause, it is harder to convert mass-market consumers unless there is something in it for them – such as supporting locally laid eggs.
I’m sure you’ll agree that if you spotted this in the supermarket you’d have to take a second look and might very likely end up taking a box home with you. Simple, funny and approachable and endearing. Wonderful illustration work too.
They won an award for this branding project too, much deserved I think.
I’d love to know what you think about this – why not join in the conversation and comment below? 🙂
